Space Monkey

Pressure Drop Brewing’s Space Monkey IPA Series is a big hop-fueled experiment for our brewer. For this series, we stick with Simcoe and Mosaic hops. Our malts range from those of a traditional West Coast IPA to an oat-driven East Coast hazy IPA. The rotating malts are what give each brew its unique body.

Because each beer in the Space Monkey Series is brewed with Simcoe and Mosaic hops, these IPAs share similar flavors. In Simcoe hops, you’ll find dank, earthy flavors. Mosaic hops offer brighter grapefruit and citrus flavors, while remaining dank. These flavors are different, but play well together across the Series.

The very first IPA in the Space Monkey Series was supposed to be the first beer we brewed on our commercial system before Pressure Drop Brewing opened. It was a test of our system, our recipe and our business. The name is a nod to the monkeys launched into space before humans as a test.
